Una Receta de Chocolate Caliente para las Bebesotas
Now that the weather is cooler it’s officially hot chocolate time! When I slip in to bed to start my night routine (which involves pulling out my ereader and trying to get a few pages in) I find myself craving something sweet but not unhealthy, you know what I mean? Enter my current favorite new thing: collagen hot cocoa! A hot chocolate recipe for the wellness girlies and their wind-down routines.
To make this yummy treat that you can feel good sipping on, here’s what you’ll need:
Mushroom Hot Cocoa Blend (I’ve been using Om Mushroom Hot Chocolate Blend with Lions Mane, Reishi, Chaga, Turkey Tail and Ashwaganda)
Non-Dairy Collagen Creamer (I’ve been using Orgain Collagen Creamer with Oatmilk Powder)
Agave Syrup (I like Agave in the Raw) - OPTIONAL
Kettle
Milk Frother
Directions:
In an aesthetic cup of your choice, add 2 heaping teaspoons of your mushroom hot cocoa mix, along with 1 scoop of the collagen creamer
Add 8-12oz of hot water from your kettle
Use milk frother to incorporate, and add 1/4 tablespoon of Agave syrup.
Enjoy

*Note: if you wanted to be even healthier you could skip the Agave syrup for a total of 110 calories, 3 grams of sugar, 3 grams of fat, 18 grams of carbs, and 10grams of protein.
What I love about this treat is the low sugar (3g of sugar should really not taste this good) and high amount of protein. It’s just as easy as emptying a packet of hot chocolate in a cup and has about 1/5th of the grams of sugar that you’d be ingesting from a conventional Swiss Miss hot cocoa envelope. The functional mushrooms in this blend are a great plus that help with relaxation and immunity. If you’re trying to up your protein intake as you exercise more or to simply improve overall joint, skin, and hair health, it’s a great addition to your nighttime routine.
